General microbiological analysis
The EZ-FIT® filtration unit is a sterile and single-use filtration device made of white, gridded, mixed cellulose esters (MCE) membrane and a blue base with cellulose support pad. It provides a safe and fast way of performing membrane filtration, by avoiding the exposure to the risks of microbiological analysis. These filtration units are designed for optimizing and securing the laboratory workflow to provide time saving and reliable microbial enumeration results. The innovative funnel assembly design prevents any leaks or sample by-pass of the membrane. The sample is covered throughout filtration by a vented lid, and a 360° rim prevents forceps from accidentally touching the membrane filtration area during membrane transfer. The end of filtration process can be visualized from any angle through the clear, and transparent funnel material. The blue EZ-FIT® units provide the extra flexibility of either transferring the membrane to an agar plate or converting the device into a Petri dish by adding the liquid media, after filtration. The EZ-FIT® filtration units conform to international standards and minimize sample residue. The units can be stacked to save the work area. The base plugs provided with the bulk packaged units can be used when culturing ampoule liquid media. This disposable device is designed to fit onto the EZ-FIT® Manifold, which features specific EZ-FIT® Filtration heads. It can also fit onto a standard #8 stopper. |
